Acquel Allen received her Bachelor of Arts in Medicine, Health, and Society from Vanderbilt University in 2016. Since then, she gained several years of experience in grants and program management. After graduating from Vanderbilt, she was hired a Grants Coordinator at Broward Health where she wrote and submitted grants on behalf of the hospital system. She has also held positions like Program Officer at the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and Grants Administrator for Weill Cornell Medicine. Acquel received her MBA in 2019 and a Certificate in Public Health in 2021, both from the University of Florida.
Her primary research interests include the prevention and mitigation of health disparities, with a focus on African American and Afro-Caribbean populations, health equity, and environmental justice.
