Erica Kiernan received her bachelor’s degree in science at Old Dominion University. After graduating, she served two and a half years in the Peace Corps in Republic of Benin as a health extension volunteer. Her primary objective was working with people with disabilities, an experience that prompted her to pursue a physical therapy degree upon returning to the U.S. She is a graduate of the University of St. Augustine DPT and MOT programs and is a licensed physical therapist and occupational therapist. She also teaches physical and occupational therapy classes in a graduate program. She takes students on annual international service trips to countries like Peru, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Morocco. She plans to further her knowledge in the public health realm to better serve the community where she currently lives and works.
