Selena Gutierrez holds a Bachelor of Public Health with a minor in Health Promotion and a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Social and Behavioral Sciences, both from the University of Florida. During her academic career, Selena completed internships with various health organizations, including RenewNow CE, a continuing education agency, and UF Health Shands Infection Control. During this time, she also obtained her Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification.
After earning her MPH, Selena worked as a long-term substitute science teacher at L.A. Ainger Middle School in Charlotte County. She has also contributed to multiple community-based research projects, focusing both on research development and manuscript revision. Selena’s primary research interests encompass mental health, sexual health, and health promotion and education.
